Station 527 - The Wistful Finale

Oh look, my first story written on a mobile phone. I need to finish this hahahahahahaha especially since a year has already passed since I first started writing this one.

--------

Sometimes, I do wonder why my friends and I ended up in this place. Is this some weird divine conspiracy intended to mold my character? Or is this just a weird dream turned into reality?

I really wish it was just the latter.

"Uhhh, hey Miss? We're now in Akitopia" The taxi driver's voice snapped me back, confirming that it was indeed a divine conspiracy. After paying him, I stepped out of the car and into the bustling district of Akitopia.

It's just like what everybody else thinks Japan is all about. Neon lights flashing as the sun was setting, the sound of cans dropping from a vending machine and of course, pretend cars blaring their horns.

This place definitely screams Akihabara, if it became a full-fledged city instead of being just a part of Tokyo. Thankfully, this place wasn't as huge as the last place I was in. So I decided to find the mall, since I knew that Van Itos would bring my fri- I meant kids there to buy dresses.

Inside the mall, I noticed that no one was really there. Honestly, I don't know anymore what was real and pretend in this place, but the TV near me was showing Rugrats, and that just confused me further. So I continued walking, in the hopes that I could talk to Van Itos and my kids.

As I was strolling around, I noticed a store which was selling rare anime knick knacks. I tried to resist it, but then..

"It wouldn't hurt to just take a look" So I went inside, and saw a lot of cute knick knacks. As much as I wanted those items, I was afraid that I would be brainwashed like my kids, so I steeled myself up and left immediately.

As I left, I had noticed the clothing store and went inside. I then searched wide and far for Van, but she wasn't there. I even asked the sales ladies but sadly, it was too late. They had left 30 minutes ago, and without any further reason, I left the mall.

A lone tear escaped from my eye, I just  missed the opportunity to talk to Van and my kids, and I feared that the worst may happen, which was the fact that their personalities may change because of those terrible wigs. I didn't even notice that it was already nighttime.

*Honk honk*

I was then snapped out of my reverie, and saw that a white van stopped right where I was standing.

"Don't worry ma'am, this is just a pickup service for those who are still stuck in Youtopia as we have just closed down for the night"

I then looked at my watch and noticed that it was already 6:10 in the evening. As I took a seat inside the van, I noticed another groupmate of ours.

"Hey Fran,  watcha doin' here?"

The redhead sheepishly looked at me and said "Well, I got caught by closing time. I think I went into the deeper part of Youtopia, and you?"

"I was looking for my kids and Van Itos..."

"Oh you meant Sach and the others? I saw them a while ago, they were throwing a buncha wigs on the garbage dump. I don't know who the heck Van Itos is, since they weren't hanging out with some stranger or something..."

I then sighed in relief, knowing that my kids stood up against that meanie Van. And with that, I closed my eyes and took a nap. Soon, we were dropped off to the very station where we started, there I saw that my kids and the rest of our groupmates standing.

As I went closer, my kids all went running towards me with regret in their eyes.

"Hey mom, we're really sorry for the way we behaved a while ago"

"Yes mom, we're sorry for talking back to you, as what Sach has mentioned. We even threw away the wigs"

"Yeah, it seems that Van was really trying to brainwash us, so we stood up against her, ran away and left her in a tantrum. But just like what Aila said, we threw the wigs away"

The three of them then said in sync, will you forgive us mom?

With tears of joy, I embraced them and replied "Yes kids, I forgive you. I'm just glad to see you're all safe and sound"

And so, we all boarded the train and went back to the team building facility. We were then sent inside the bus, so we can finally go home.

Inside the bus, I decided to sleep this one off. Honestly, the day was too surreal-being whisked off to a place where we don't know, dealing with an egomaniac and hopping in and out of towns with no one even noticing we were gone.

Despite the fact that a bunch of crazy things happened, I'm just glad that one thing remains strong and that was the power of friendship.

The following day, I decided to solve this problem, was there really a Youtopia inside the team building facilty?

Sadly there was none, but then I noticed something inside my bag. It was the picture I got from the man in the alley, I looked at it and smiled. It was a picture of me and my friends, or as I would like to call them, my kids.

---

And that's where my story ends. I hope you liked my wild ride into Station 527 and I hope that I can write more stories like this. Again, maintain social distance, follow health protocols and most importantly, continue to pray and walk with God. Together we will overcome this pandemic 😊🙏
