The Ninja

The ninja and his pet Jolteon.

I remember that Christmas party where my boss had given me one of those kitschy little ninja toys that move whenever it is placed in sunlight. Due to fact that our department was once located in a closed area without any source of sunlight-the little ninja ended up being a static paperweight to keep my various documents safe. But in all honesty, it was just there to personalize my desk.

It was only upon moving out from that closed space when the little ninja could finally move, why? My desk was now near the window, so the little guy could run to his heart's content...well, until sundown-that is.  Now, while I was catching up on some of my tasks, I ended up picking up some unexpected lessons from that little ninja that we could all apply in our lives.  I have listed them down for your reference:
  1. The little ninja will keep on moving, even if you put him still for a few seconds-it will still move, for as long as there is sunlight around. Just like in life, there is a time and place for everything. We have to move and work hard, but at the same time-we also have to rest when the time allows us to. The ninja will only move during the day and slowly move until stopping to rest for the night and even if I forced it to do such-it cannot (and I would freak out when it does move suddenly during the night!)
  2. Without sunlight, the ninja is just a mere accessory that embellishes my chaotic desk. Just like us, we cannot do things without God on our side and this is one of the truths that I also have to accept. I admit that it isn't easy, but I think He is speaking to me through that ninja toy that my life without Him was like those days when that ninja was still on our old area-lifeless and dull. And when I started to be close with Him, my life gained meaning and joy. In a sense, it isn't only me who could relate with that ninja, maybe you do as well-and that's alright. We do need some light in our lives.
Now, before I leave-I shall impart to you some divine wisdom from the Master Himself:

John 15:5 (GNT)
"I am the vine, and you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will bear much fruit; for you can do nothing without me.
