Hello Joe...
I was tapping my foot impatiently, wondering when you would arrive. We have both agreed that we would meet up at the wishing fountain of Virramall, but alas-it seems that you were late again-just as always. But then again, that was expected-after all, I'm just the spare tire to Deborah-your one and true love. To be honest, I did not want to be involved in a relationship with someone who was already with another, but then...I couldn't resist your smoldering eyes which ignites my vulnerable heart or that scruffy stubble which seems to tickle whenever we would kiss.
I then decided to buy us a snack at Bread Connection since I figured that you might be hungry as well. As I sat down the wishing fountain, I saw you approaching...but why weren't you smiling?
"I'm sorry Desiree, but we're through...I can't be with you anymore"
"But why, Joe? What happened, am I not good enough?"
"No, it's not that...you deserve better than this phony thing that you call a relationship"
With tears on my eyes, I bluntly asked "Did she set you up for this?"
"...No, but I really love Deborah and I cannot lose her, after all-we are planning on getting married and I can't keep this charade up for long"
"Then why did you lead me on, if you had already planned on settling down with her?!"
"I'm sorry, I was confused with my feelings towards her...that's why I had decided to keep a relationship with you, just in case we broke up.."
"So I really am the spare tire between you and Deborah..."
"That's not true Desiree, I have loved you as much as I loved Deb"
"Well then Joe, if you have really loved me...then this-this phony relationship had not happened!"
"And I'm truly sorry for hurting you Desiree...I wish you all the best in life and I hope that you would find someone who won't use you as much as I did, I truly regret everything I have done" He then left me all alone, crying at the wishing fountain where we used to have wondrous memories. I then threw a 1 Peso coin into the waters, hoping that this time-my wish would come true.
