The story of deers
Once upon a time, I ended up liking Girls Generation thanks to my Kpop-loving friends (who also happen to be my close friends and classmates in Nihongo class) From simply listening to some of their songs, up to watching them in Horror Movie Factory- I was suddenly hooked on them, just like moths trailing around a light bulb.
And I realized something, I don't really know that much about "mystery member" Yoona; considering that she was absent in HMF, and the only fact that I knew about her is that she's very close with Seohyun. To be honest, my first impression of her was less than savory since I thought that she was quite snobby, smug and distant from the other girls.
At first, my bias was Yuri because of her lovely name (true story!) and her wacky personality. Then, it shifted to Jessica since she was so beautiful in her Elle Girl photoshoot, plus her voice in Sweet Delight was just plain cute (or maybe its because of her dolphin scream)
Everything changed when I started discovering OTPs and fanfiction. In particular, it was "Falling for you again" which starred all the royal couples (but I was there for Taeny) soon, I was intrigued with Yoona's characterization in the story where she has a split personality and is pretty childish either way. Things started to get interesting when my friend suggested that I should grab the Yoonaddict baller (since the Taenysic ballers were only part of a set)
My curiosity soon led me to a post in tumblr which gave some in-depth info on Yoona. I actually started to like her since she's quiet, quirky and nice. And the fact that she remains strong even in the face of pressure and haters. It was her relatable charm that eventually sealed the deal, and ever since then-Yoona became my bias and I would support her no matter what.
So, happy birthday to Yoona!
